Scrapbooking Video

I checked out this video today by swissgirl90 on Youtube. I really enjoyed watching her make this page. I never thought to use paint as a canvas for my scrap paper. I always just had to rely on the crappy themes available to me in the stores. She took reddish paint to make a background canvas and then she used white on the end of cardstock it looked like to make lines. She also used some good stamps and stencils to create some nice touches to the page she was creating. I also enjoyed the massacre of the sheet music to make butterflies. That was pretty creative. I really would like to know what that glue contraption was that she used. I don’t have one of those but it seems like it would be very a very useful tool.

I also enjoyed the music and the presentation of the video. The little things she was putting together on the side of her page in the end were hard to see but she provided a close up for us all to enjoy at the end. I think she is very talented and I hope to one day be as good. Thanks swissgirl90 for giving me some scrapbooking ideas to work with.

New Scrapbooking Features at Michael’s

I read a scrapbooking blog today that features an article about new scrapbooking sections at your local Michael’s store. Michael has been known to have a decent scrapbooking section but not nearly as large as say Hobby Lobby. However, it seems Michael’s may be trying a hand at the scrapping of the future.

It seems they are pulling themed scrabooking ideas together now. So that if you are working on a page for say your summer vacation. All of your summer stickers, stamps, paper and other items are going to be all group together. What does this mean for you?? Well it will save time if you know exactly what theme you are going for, if you don’t though and are just browsing it may turn you off to have to look through themed displays.

For those of you who love to scrapbook but have a little harder time knowing what  items to put on and page and what not to, this may make things a little easier for you especially when it is time to buy your items.

Michael’s also has an assortment of different clever scrapbooking  t-shirts. Yes, that is right. Now there are phrase tees about scrapbooking. “I love to Scrap” or something else along those lines so now you can sport your hobby across your chest. lol Have fun with it you guys, it is not everyday that you get to let everyone know what melts your butter.
